You need discernment, which is acting with foresight, caution, and reliance on God’s truth rather than reacting emotionally or blindly accepting popular narratives.

Awakenings from Proverbs 14:15

The simple believes every word, But the prudent considers well his steps.

Always consider the source

YOU are worthy and God has given YOU supreme authority over all things, that includes yourself. A characteristic of a naive person is gullibility, a prudent person is careful and able to think for themselves. Jesus warns YOU to be aware of the advice from people that do no have your best interest. Stop listening to advice from people who have not done what YOU want to be, want to do or want to have.

When YOU listen to them YOU drown out your own voice in your head, now your thoughts are cluttered, and that clutter turns into confusion and with confusion YOU have no clarity (That cunning serpent). Jesus says, "YOU are worthy" (Matt. 10:31), have faith in yourself, believe in yourself, stop getting confused by the confusion of others who are already confused. Let God work through YOU by the power of His Holy Spirit.

You see people don't want to change their thinking, they don't want to change their minds. They look to change everything but themselves. People know exactly what everyone else ought to do, but don't know what they ought to do. Be careful who YOU listen to. Stop following popular narratives! The adversary wants to confuse YOU and keep YOU comfortable.
