Turn on the Light
Instead of choosing between the culture's way or traditions of thinking, Jesus offers a third way: following him, which brings the "light of life".

Flip the switch
The beloved author Maya Angelou shared a quote about leadership, stewardship and partnership, she said, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." -- That is true, remarkable leadership is measured not how smart you are but by how you help people be as bright as they can be. YOU are light. Jesus is telling YOU to separate yourself and consecrate yourself from the darkness that YOU tend to harbor knowingly and unknowingly.
Take personal leadership over yourself and turn on the light of your life. YOU don't merely have an inherent light switch, but you have reflective light as YOU the love of Jesus, YOU will reflect it. Walk away from the pressure of popular trends (wokeness, consumerism) and embrace others with grace and love with focusing on investing in relationships and offering a distinct alternative.
